Karachi: The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi officially launched the much-anticipated “Indonesian Week” at Naheed Supermarket on 30 May 2025. This three-day event, running until 1 June 2025, aims to promote Indonesian products, deepen bilateral ties, and celebrate the cultural exchange between Indonesia and Pakistan.

Grand Inauguration by Consul General

The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Teguh Wiweko, Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi, who was joined by key officials including Mr. Ahmad Syofian, Consul for Economic Affairs, and Mr. Dewanto Priyokusumo, along with the leadership of Naheed Supermarket and other notable business figures.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Teguh Wiweko expressed gratitude to Naheed Supermarket and its leadership for hosting the event.

“This initiative reflects the growing spirit of collaboration between Indonesia and Pakistan. It’s about more than just promoting trade; it’s about connecting our people through shared cultural experiences and culinary delights,” said the Consul General.

Mr. Ahmad Syofian, Consul for Economic Affairs, highlighted the economic importance of the event.

“Indonesian Week showcases a variety of our finest products—from authentic food items and spices to wellness goods and electronics. Events like this create new opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as halal industry, agriculture, and FMCG.”
