Indonesia Medica delegates and Pakistani healthcare representatives at the MoU signing ceremony in Karachi.

Indonesia Medica Turns Health Asia 2026 Engagement Into $625 Million Partnership Pipeline

Indonesia Medica has turned its three-day participation in Health Asia Expo & Conference 2026 into concrete business partnerships, with three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between Indonesian and Pakistani organisations.

The agreements were signed at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi during a business dinner held in honour of Indonesia Medica delegates. Together, the three MoUs carry an indicative value of $625 million in projected trade transactions, marking a significant step in strengthening healthcare and commercial ties between the two countries.

The agreements were signed between Indonesia’s HIPELKI and the Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan (HDAP); PT Borden Eagle Indonesia and Muller & Phipps Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.; and PT Tele Sehat Indonesia and Educast Global Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.

Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir said the agreements demonstrated the importance of turning business discussions into practical cooperation.

“These three MoUs are important not simply because documents are being signed, but because they demonstrate three things we want to see more often: stronger links between our industry institutions, more direct partnerships between our companies, and a willingness to translate promising conversations into practical cooperation,” he said.

The agreements follow high-level engagement during Indonesia’s participation in Health Asia 2026. Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, who inaugurated the exhibition, visited the Indonesia Medica pavilion and participated in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The HIPELKI-HDAP agreement provides an institutional framework for cooperation that will be followed by a practical Plan of Action. Proposed areas include business matching, reciprocal market access, regulatory and industry information exchange, capacity building, research and development, technology transfer, manufacturing cooperation, production machinery, joint ventures, local manufacturing and digital health.

HIPELKI represents around 250 stakeholders across Indonesia’s medical-device sector, while HDAP represents approximately 300 Pakistani importers and manufacturers.

The other two agreements expand cooperation at the company-to-company level. The partnerships involving PT Borden Eagle Indonesia, Muller & Phipps Pakistan, PT Tele Sehat Indonesia and Educast Global Pakistan are expected to open new commercial opportunities and support longer-term business relationships.

Mudzakir said the agreements reflected the broader purpose of economic diplomacy, adding that the Consulate General aimed to help businesses establish connections and develop those contacts into sustainable partnerships.

The business dinner was attended by HIPELKI Secretary General Sigit Mohammad Nuzul, HDAP Chairman Dr Syed Omer Ahmad, Health Asia Expo and Conference Co-Founder Dr Zakiullah, Health Asia Project Director Farhan Anis of E-Commerce Gateway, representatives of the companies involved in the agreements, Indonesian delegates and Pakistani healthcare industry leaders.

The Consulate General said Indonesia Medica should be viewed as more than an exhibition platform. It plans to follow up on contacts and business discussions developed during Health Asia 2026 in cooperation with relevant ministries, HIPELKI, HDAP, E-Commerce Gateway, participating companies and Pakistani partners.

Future efforts are expected to include targeted business matching and direct company-to-company engagement.

The Consulate General also expressed hope that Indonesia Medica would become a regular Indonesian platform at future editions of Health Asia, bringing more companies and wider business networks while generating stronger commercial outcomes.

“Health Asia may be concluding, but we hope this evening opens a new chapter — one in which the connections made here develop into lasting partnerships and tangible results for Indonesia and Pakistan,” Mudzakir said.
