Indonesia concludes successful participation at Pakistan Travel Mart 2026

Karachi: Indonesia successfully concluded its participation in Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2026, held at the Karachi Expo Centre from 3–5 April 2026, one of Pakistan’s leading travel trade exhibitions. PTM 2026 brought together a wide range of domestic and international tourism stakeholders and was held over three days in Karachi.

Represented by two Indonesian travel operators which collaborated with local partners, Indonesia’s presence at the event highlighted the country’s strong commitment to expanding tourism cooperation with Pakistan.

Throughout the three-day exhibition, the Indonesian delegation actively engaged with local travel industry players, initiated promising business discussions, and explored collaborative opportunities with local travel operator partners to develop more attractive and market-responsive travel packages.

Consul for Economic Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Syofian, highlighted that the participation generated encouraging market interest.

He further added Bali remained the most recognized and in-demand destination among Pakistani buyers and visitors, reflecting its enduring appeal as Indonesia’s flagship tourism icon. At the same time, Indonesia also introduced a broader range of destinations to the Pakistani market, including Lombok, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and other destinations that offer rich cultural, urban, leisure, and nature-based experiences.

Indonesia’s message at PTM 2026 went beyond promoting destinations alone. The Indonesian delegation emphasized that Indonesia offers not only places to visit, but also meaningful travel experiences. This includes cultural immersion, wellness and leisure, culinary discovery, community-based tourism, and tourism approaches that are increasingly aligned with the principles of sustainable tourism.

Through this participation, Indonesia sought to position itself as a diverse and forward-looking tourism destination for the Pakistani market—one that combines world-class attractions with authentic experiences and responsible tourism values. The business engagements and partnership initiatives made during PTM 2026 are expected to contribute to more varied travel products and stronger tourism linkages between Indonesia and Pakistan.

At the same occassion, Consul for Media Social and Cultural Affairs, Ms. Dian Ratri stressed that Indonesia’s participation in Pakistan Travel Mart 2026 reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen people-to-people connections and expand tourism-based cooperation between the two countries.

Moving forward, Indonesia remains committed to working closely with Pakistani travel partners to promote a wider range of destinations and create more accessible, appealing, and sustainable travel offerings for Pakistani travelers.
