Hina Altaf Urges Women to Stand Together After Workplace Harassment Incident

Hina Altaf has called for unity among women after facing a disturbing incident involving alleged harassment at her workplace.

The actor shared her experience through an Instagram story on Wednesday. She revealed that she encountered a predator while working on set but managed to remove herself from the situation by staying alert and acting quickly.

Hina Altaf Raises Concerns Over Women’s Safety

Altaf said she immediately informed the production team about the incident. However, she described the experience as heartbreaking and exhausting.

She also highlighted the constant pressure women face to remain cautious in daily life and at work.

According to Altaf, women often rely on “being smart” as a survival mechanism because they still lack a basic sense of security.

Furthermore, she urged women to support one another and speak up against harassment instead of remaining silent.

“We cannot afford to stay silent or let these moments slide,” Altaf said in her message.

Call for Collective Action

The actor encouraged women to trust their instincts and demand accountability whenever they face misconduct.

She stressed that women should stand together until meaningful change takes place in society and workplaces.

Altaf’s statement sparked renewed discussion about workplace harassment in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

Previous Cases in the Entertainment Industry

In 2021, Mehar Bano also spoke publicly about harassment on a film set involving a member of the sound crew.

At the time, Saba Qamar intervened and reportedly had the crew member removed from the project.

Bano later praised Qamar for taking a strong stand against workplace harassment.

Dramas Also Highlight the Issue

Pakistani television has also addressed harassment and abuse through social issue-based dramas.

One notable example is Case No. 9, which featured Saba Qamar as a survivor seeking justice after workplace assault.

The drama received critical praise for highlighting legal awareness and women’s rights issues in Pakistan.
