Grand Urdu Mushaira Showcases Renowned Pakistani Poets in UAE

Ajman, UAE: The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with “Abhi Kuch Log Baqi Hain” and Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, hosted a grand Urdu Mushaira featuring celebrated Pakistani poets. The event was held at the Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel and attracted a large audience, uniting the Pakistani community and lovers of Urdu literature from across the UAE.
The evening concluded with a soulful Ghazal Night by legendary classical singer Ustad Shafqat Salamat Ali Khan, adding melodic depth to the cultural celebration.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s envoy to the UAE, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside prominent dignitaries including Dr. Bu Abdullah, Chairman of Bu Abdullah Group, and Dr. Rashid Alleem. In his address, Ambassador Tirmizi warmly welcomed the poets and praised their contributions to Urdu literature. He emphasized the importance of literature and arts as essential instruments of Pakistan’s cultural diplomacy.
The Mushaira was presided over by acclaimed poet Abbas Tabish and hosted by literary personalities Ambareen Haseeb Amber and Shakeel Jazib. Notable poets who participated included:
Ambassador Tirmizi congratulated the partner organizers on the successful event and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting similar cultural and literary programs in the future.
“Hosting our distinguished poets in the UAE is a source of pride,” said the Ambassador. “Art and literature serve as vital tools of soft power, enhancing Pakistan’s cultural image on global platforms.”
He also extended special thanks to Mr. Iftekhar Hamdani, General Manager of Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, for his consistent support in promoting Pakistani culture and literature through such events.
Mr. Awais Ahmad Bhatti and Mr. Hammad Hassan Bhatti expressed deep appreciation to the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai for their invaluable assistance in making the event a success.
