Before the ceremony, Xi Jinping and other officials met with war veterans who had contributed to China’s resistance during World War II.

In a separate military ceremony, President Xi Jinping, also Chairman of the Central Military Commission, signed a decree recognizing and honoring all military personnel who participated in the military parade marking the 80th anniversary of victory.

Titled “Victory of Justice”, the event showcased the historic struggle of the Chinese people against Japanese aggression and highlighted the Communist Party of China’s central role in leading the resistance. The ceremony celebrated the courage of the Chinese population and underscored the unbreakable spirit of the Chinese nation, widely admired around the world.

Meanwhile, in Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that agreements reached during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2025 Summit will create favorable opportunities for Iran in economy, security, science, and tourism. Speaking upon his return to Tehran, Pezeshkian highlighted the SCO Plus discussions on rights-based peace and justice, noting China’s proposals for a global order based on truth, fairness, and equality, with a rejection of double standards.
