Karachi: Renowned businessman and social leader, Farooq Ahmed, has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA). Ahmed, who also serves as the CEO of Data Paper Mill Private Limited and Madina Oasis, brings a wealth of experience in both the business and social sectors.

In addition to his role in the business world, Farooq Ahmed is an active member of the Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium and serves as General Secretary of the Sialkot Narwal Welfare Association. His involvement in these organizations highlights his dedication to social services alongside his business achievements.
Vision for Pakistan’s Leather Industry
Upon his election, Farooq Ahmed expressed his commitment to advancing the Pakistan leather garments and export industry on a global scale. He emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s leather industry, with more than 800 active tanneries producing high-quality finished leather products such as jackets, bags, and gloves.
Call for Government Support
Farooq Ahmed stressed that promoting Pakistan’s leather garments industry can play a vital role in stabilizing the country’s economy. He urged the government to provide greater incentives to leather manufacturers and exporters, which he believes will help drive an industrial revolution in Pakistan.
