Islamabad: The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday and discussed key matters of mutual interest, including regional connectivity, trade, and cultural cooperation.
Pakistan-China Friendship a Cornerstone of Foreign Policy
President Zardari reaffirmed that Pakistan places the highest importance on its long-standing strategic partnership with China. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, particularly trade, economy, culture, and regional development.
He praised China’s unwavering support during difficult times, calling the relationship with China an “iron-clad friendship” rooted in mutual respect and trust.
Peace, Prosperity, and Regional Connectivity Discussed
The President stressed the importance of collective efforts for promoting peace, security, and prosperity in the region. He also appreciated China’s significant role in Pakistan’s socio-economic progress and expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their continued support.
