Karachi: Central Prison Karachi marked Independence Day with a Maarka-e-Haq celebration program aimed at promoting patriotism, spirituality, and national unity among inmates.
The event began with the national anthem and the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address from the Senior Superintendent, who underscored the significance of Pakistan’s Independence Day. A documentary on Pakistan’s freedom struggle was screened, highlighting the nation’s history and sacrifices made for independence.
A respected Aalim delivered a lecture on peace and tolerance in Islam, stressing the importance of these values in building a harmonious society. The program also featured an interactive question-and-answer session, encouraging inmates to actively engage in a constructive discussion.
The gathering concluded with Zuhr prayers, symbolizing reflection and gratitude, and underscoring the government’s efforts to involve all segments of society — including those in correctional facilities — in national celebrations.
