Businessmen Group Wins Karachi Chamber Elections 2024-26

Karachi: The Businessmen Group (BMG) has achieved a decisive victory in the Karachi Chamber Elections for the 2024-26 term, with all 30 BMG candidates securing a total of 92,954 votes. In contrast, candidates from the Businessmen Alliance (BMA) garnered only 21,613 votes.

Election Results and Notable Candidates

According to provisional results announced by Election Commission members Agha Shahab Ahmed Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, and Abdul Nasir Rangoonwala, BMG’s Jawed Bilwani received the highest number of votes at 3,148. Other notable BMG candidates included Zia ul Arfeen (3,106 votes), Faisal Khalil Ahmed (3,143 votes), and Nusair Siraj Teli (3,146 votes).

BMA candidates had lower vote counts, with Wasiq Hussain Khan achieving 762 votes and Arshad Khurshid receiving 755 votes.

Leadership Acknowledgment

In a joint statement, BMG Chairman Zubair Motiwala and other leaders, including Vice Chairmen Tahir Khaliq and Anjum Nisar, expressed their gratitude to Karachi’s business and industrial community for their support. They emphasized the need for the newly elected Managing Committee Members to prioritize public service and advocate for the business community’s interests.

Zubair Motiwala stated, “By the grace of Almighty Allah, BMG has won all elections since 1998 without losing a single seat. This 26-year streak reflects our commitment to public service and the trust placed in us by the business community.”

He praised the hard work of BMG members during the election campaign, highlighting that their dedication contributed significantly to this success.
