Washington: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and head of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, met with U.S. Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, during his visit to Washington.

During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lauded Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove’s continued advocacy for human rights and democratic values. He highlighted Pakistan’s serious concerns regarding India’s use of baseless allegations to target innocent civilians, particularly women and children.

India Accused of Cross-Border Human Rights Violations

The PPP Chairman accused the Indian government of committing grave human rights violations not only within its borders but also attempting to carry out cross-border actions in violation of international law.

He also pointed out that India has faced significant military setbacks in recent skirmishes. However, he alleged that the Indian government is misleading its citizens with false narratives of victory, depriving them of factual information.

Call for U.S. Engagement to Promote Peace

Bilawal acknowledged the positive role the United States has played in promoting peace and stability in South Asia. He urged Washington to intensify its diplomatic efforts to curb India’s rising militarism, which he warned could further destabilize the region.

Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in areas of peace, regional stability, and human rights.
