Emergency crews respond after a reported missile attack in Belgorod near Russia’s border with Ukraine.
Belgorod Missile Attack Two people were killed and 16 others injured after a missile strike hit the Russian city of Belgorod near the Ukrainian border, according to acting regional governor Alexander Shuvayev.
Shuvayev said the attack on Sunday struck a commercial facility and triggered fires at seven warehouses in the city.
Russian online retailer Ozon separately reported that a logistics hub and sorting facility in Belgorod came under attack. The company said the incident caused a fire and injured several people. However, it was not immediately clear whether Ozon and the regional authorities were referring to the same locations.
The reported strike came two days after a Russian drone attack in the Kyiv region killed at least 38 people, according to Ukrainian authorities. The attack reportedly triggered an explosion at an ammunition depot.

Russia and Ukraine have regularly targeted each other’s infrastructure since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Both sides have struck ports, energy facilities, logistics sites and other infrastructure. However, Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately targeting civilians.
Reuters said it could not independently verify the reports of damage or casualties in Belgorod.
Separately, Russia’s largest lender, Sberbank, has approved the restructuring of loans worth a total of 6.8 billion roubles ($79 million) for traders selling goods through Ozon and Wildberries, state news agency TASS reported.
The move follows recent attacks affecting facilities linked to major Russian e-commerce platforms, including Wildberries.
The latest developments underscore the continuing impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on commercial and logistical infrastructure on both sides of the border.
