Karachi: Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist in men’s javelin throw, was honored at a special ceremony hosted by Meezan Bank at its headquarters, Meezan House. The event celebrated his historic achievement with a cash reward and other accolades.
Cash Reward and Honors Arshad Nadeem received a cheque worth Rs. 9,297,000 from Meezan Bank’s Founding President and CEO, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui. This amount represents Rs. 100,000 for every meter of his gold-medal-winning throw of 92.97 meters at the 2024 Olympics. In addition to the monetary reward, Arshad was presented with a commemorative plaque and medal by Syed Amir Ali, Deputy CEO of Meezan Bank, recognizing his contribution to Pakistani sports.
A Nation’s Pride The ceremony, attended by esteemed guests and media, highlighted the nation’s pride in Arshad Nadeem’s victory, which marks Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in 40 years. Mr. Irfan Siddiqui praised Arshad for his dedication and perseverance, stating, “His achievement is a monumental moment for Pakistan, inspiring millions to pursue their dreams with determination.”
Syed Amir Ali also lauded Arshad’s role in uniting the nation through sports, emphasizing that his success has elevated Pakistan’s international standing and motivated the youth.
