Apple Sales remain strong, but the company expects slower revenue growth in the current quarter as supply chain constraints continue to limit product availability.

Apple forecast revenue growth of 9% to 11% for the quarter ending in September, below Wall Street’s expectation of 12%. Following the announcement, the company’s shares fell 5.5% in after-hours trading.
Chief Executive Tim Cook said supply shortages—not weak demand—remain the company’s biggest challenge.
“We’re seeing some very significant supply constraints currently with limited flexibility in the supply chain to remedy it,” Cook said.
Chip Shortages Affect Product Supply
Apple said shortages of advanced chipmaking technology have restricted production, particularly for devices powered by Apple Silicon processors.
Cook added that the company is evaluating alternative memory chip suppliers to ease supply pressures.
He also noted that demand has exceeded expectations, leaving suppliers struggling to keep pace.
Third-Quarter Results Beat Expectations
Despite supply challenges, Apple reported stronger-than-expected financial results for its fiscal third quarter ended June 27.
Revenue increased 16.4% to $109.42 billion, surpassing analysts’ forecasts.
The company also posted earnings of $2.02 per share, comfortably beating Wall Street estimates.
iPhone and Mac Drive Growth
iPhone sales rose 21.7% to $54.25 billion, marking Apple’s strongest third-quarter iPhone performance on record.
Meanwhile, Mac revenue climbed 28.7% to $10.35 billion, supported by strong demand for the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro.
However, iPad sales declined 5.9% to $6.19 billion.
Cook attributed the decline to difficult comparisons with last year’s budget iPad launch.
Services Business Misses Expectations
Apple’s services division generated $30.74 billion in revenue, rising 12.1% year-on-year.
However, the figure fell short of analysts’ expectations.
Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh said mobile gaming revenue faced pressure.
He also cited changes to App Store business models in some markets and legal rulings affecting Apple’s payment system.
AI and Future Growth Plans
Apple recently introduced a redesigned Siri with new artificial intelligence features.
Cook said the company plans to expand premium AI services through iCloud+, allowing customers to pay for additional AI-powered features.
Although supply constraints remain a concern, Apple said it continues to invest in new technologies while working to strengthen its supply chain.
