Ambassador Tirmizi, UAE Minister Discuss Innovation and Governance Cooperation

Gratitude for the UAE’s continued support and

reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to

deepening its historic and fraternal ties

Dubai: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, met with Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in governance, innovation, and public service delivery.

During the meeting in Dubai, Ambassador Tirmizi conveyed gratitude for the UAE’s continued support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its historic and fraternal ties with the Gulf nation. He lauded the UAE’s inclusive development model and its leadership for creating a harmonious society that embraces diverse communities, including the vibrant Pakistani diaspora.

He also thanked the UAE government for hosting a high-level delegation from Pakistan led by Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit. The delegation is participating in a two-day (July 8–9) experience exchange program with various UAE ministries and agencies, focusing on innovation in governance and improved public sector performance.

Lootah reaffirmed the UAE’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan in areas such as tax automation, competitiveness, and institutional innovation. He noted Pakistan’s significant potential and stressed the importance of mutual learning for developing practical solutions that benefit both nations.

Ambassador Tirmizi shared that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is particularly interested in the UAE’s successful tax automation systems and has directed the delegation to fully leverage this opportunity to boost Pakistan’s domestic tax collection efficiency.
