Afghan Drones: Pakistan Says Air Defences Shot Down Four Drones Launched from Afghanistan

Pakistan’s military says its air defence system intercepted and destroyed four drones that entered Balochistan after being launched from Afghanistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the ISPR said Pakistan’s air defence network detected the drones shortly after they crossed the border. Security forces then used advanced countermeasures to destroy all four aerial platforms before they could pose a threat.

The military described the operation as evidence of a high level of operational readiness, adding that the swift response prevented what it called a hostile cross-border attempt.

The ISPR accused the Afghan Taliban administration of supporting militant groups operating from territory under its control. It said the drone launches reflected continued patronage of terrorist organisations and amounted to a cross-border provocation.

The military also claimed that the Afghan Taliban authorities were attempting to divert public attention from domestic challenges. According to the statement, such actions would only deepen the hardships faced by the Afghan people.

Reaffirming its security posture, the ISPR said the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty. It warned that any future cross-border incursions or actions threatening Pakistan’s territorial integrity would receive a swift, decisive and overwhelming response under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
