Islamabad: In a dramatic turn of events, police entered the Parliament House in Islamabad and arrested several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders. According to sources, the lights inside the National Assembly were turned off, and officials in civilian clothes entered the premises while police took positions outside.

Masked officials detained PTI leaders inside the Parliament, including prominent figures such as Naseem Ali Shah, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Aamir Dogar, Zain Qureshi, Ahmed Chatta, Yusuf Khan, and Zubair Khan, a Member of the Assembly from South Waziristan. Two security personnel accompanying the PTI leaders were also detained.

Meanwhile, there are reports that PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur has reached KP House. Naeem Panjhota stated that he will leave for Peshawar with the Chief Minister from KP House. Earlier, the police arrested PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar and Sher Afzal Marwat from outside the Parliament, while Shoaib Shaheen was detained at his residence.

Cases Filed Against PTI Meeting Organizers

Authorities have registered three cases against the organizers of a PTI meeting. The first case concerns a violation for not ending the meeting on time, the second for deviating from the designated route, and the third for stone-pelting on SSP Safe City and other officials.

Islamabad Police arrested several PTI leaders, including MNA Zain Qureshi, Sheikh Waqas Akram, MNA Naseem-ur-Rehman, Shah Ahmed Khattak, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza of the Sunni Etihad Council from inside the Parliament House. Police officials have indicated that more arrests, including those of Umar Ayub and Zartaj Gul, are forthcoming.

Red Zone Completely Sealed

In response to the arrests, the police have closed the entry and exit points of Islamabad’s red zone. The area has been completely sealed from D Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Serena, and Marriott. However, Ali Muhammad Khan managed to leave the Parliament House without being arrested.

Conclusion

The situation in Islamabad remains tense, with further arrests of PTI leaders expected. The police presence around the Parliament and in the red zone continues to be heavy, as authorities maintain tight control over the area.
