Quetta: Armed militants killed 30 people in a series of coordinated attacks across several areas of Balochistan between Saturday and Sunday. The assaults blocked major highways, disrupting traffic throughout the province. In response, security forces launched a retaliatory operation, which resulted in the deaths of twelve terrorists.

Militants Target Seven Cities

Militants launched simultaneous attacks on seven cities, including Panjgur, Mastung, Kalat, Turbat, Gwadar, and Quetta. In Musa Khel, the attackers stopped vehicles traveling between Punjab and Balochistan in the Rara Hashim area, forcibly removing passengers and opening fire. The assault claimed at least 30 lives, and one critically injured person was taken to Dera Ghazi Khan for urgent treatment. The militants also damaged over ten vehicles.

Government Takes Swift Action

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti demanded a detailed report on the Musa Khel incident and called an emergency meeting to address the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attacks and vowed that the militants and their facilitators would face severe consequences. “Terrorists have shown their brutality by targeting innocent civilians,” he said.

Widespread Violence Across Balochistan

On Saturday and Sunday night, terrorists also launched multiple attacks across Balochistan. In Kalat, armed men attacked the residence and hotel of Malik Zubar Muhammad Hosni, killing him. The Assistant Commissioner of Kalat, Aftab Lassi, sustained injuries in another attack but is now in stable condition. Attackers set three vehicles on fire outside a police station in Giuni.

In Mastung, militants attacked a Levies Force police station in the Khad Kocha area and targeted a security forces camp in Lasbela district. Security forces killed five attackers during these operations. In Gwadar, militants attacked the Sint Sir Police Station in Jeoni, setting fire to three vehicles and seizing weapons from the police.

Pilgrim Travel Restricted Amid Escalating Violence

The administration has imposed a ban on pilgrim travel throughout Balochistan to ensure their safety. Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman announced that the ban is in place to protect pilgrims. Additionally, Iran has restricted pilgrim entry, advising them to avoid travel during this period. In Lasbela district, officials urged residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

The President, Prime Minister, and Interior Minister strongly condemned the terrorist attacks and pledged to continue operations until all terrorists are eradicated.
