The Dairy & Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan has urged the government to ensure equal representation of genuine dairy and cattle farmers from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in the reconstituted Livestock and Dairy Development Board.
The Dairy & Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan (DCFA Pakistan) has called for equal and meaningful representation of dairy and cattle farmers from all four provinces in the reconstitution of the Livestock and Dairy Development Board (LDDB).
In a letter dated November 8, 2026, addressed to Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) Chairman Major General (R) Shuja Anwar and Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, the association welcomed the government’s initiative to reconstitute the board through a transparent and merit-based process.
Association Seeks Consultation
DCFA Pakistan said small and medium-scale farmers from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan should receive equal and meaningful representation on the reconstituted board.
The association also pointed out that it had not yet been formally consulted or taken into confidence regarding the reconstitution process.
It urged the authorities to arrange consultations with DCFA Pakistan and other relevant farmers’ organizations before finalizing the board’s composition.
Offers Names of Farmer Representatives
The association said it was ready to immediately submit the names and credentials of qualified, experienced and genuine farmer representatives from all four provinces for consideration under a transparent, merit-based process.
According to DCFA Pakistan, including grassroots dairy and cattle farmers alongside corporate stakeholders and technical experts would strengthen the board’s effectiveness.
The association said broader farmer participation could also contribute to the development of Pakistan’s livestock sector, rural economy and national food security.
The letter was signed by Shakir Umar Gujjar, Founder and Central President of DCFA Pakistan. A copy was also sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for information.
The association concluded its appeal with the message: “Save Farmer — Save Pakistan.”
