Pop star Dua Lipa has revealed a personal detail hidden in her bespoke Chanel wedding gown, designed by the fashion house’s artistic director, Matthieu Blazy.
Speaking at the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards, where she honoured Blazy alongside rapper A$AP Rocky, Lipa praised the designer for creating a gown that combined intricate craftsmanship with deeply personal meaning.
The singer revealed that the dress featured an embroidery depicting the couple’s dog in their favourite park in London.
“[Matthieu] wove such deeply personal messages into [the look], even an embroidery of our dog in our favourite park in London,” she said.
Describing the gown as a masterpiece, Lipa praised the precision and attention to detail involved in its creation.
“It was a true masterpiece crafted with extraordinary precision and care and filled with so much meaning. And now one day I’ll get to tell my grandkids, ‘Granny got married in Chanel couture,’” she added.

For the Italian festivities, the singer wore a custom Chanel Haute Couture gown designed by Blazy.
Lipa also revealed that she gave the designer complete creative freedom over some of the gown’s more extravagant details. This allowed Blazy to shape the overall look while incorporating personal elements that reflected the couple’s story.
The embroidery of their dog in a favourite London park added a private memory to the couture creation, making the gown more than a fashion statement.
