Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has urged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to focus on governance and security in the province.
Memon criticised Afridi over his recent political remarks and alleged that the chief minister remained focused on the political agenda of PTI founder Imran Khan.
He said Afridi should concentrate on his responsibilities as chief minister instead of acting as a spokesperson for the PTI founder.
Memon said Afridi had remained focused on Khan’s political agenda since taking oath. He argued that KP faced serious security challenges, including terrorism.
The Sindh minister also urged the KP government to address the province’s deteriorating security situation.
He said Afridi should not shift responsibility for the province’s problems onto others. Instead, he should answer for the security challenges facing KP.
Memon’s remarks came amid a wider political dispute between the federal government, the PPP and the PTI-led KP government.

The dispute has intensified alongside PTI’s ongoing protest march toward Islamabad. Afridi has been leading the march, which seeks the release of Imran Khan.
The federal government and PTI have also disagreed over counterterrorism policy in KP. Talks between the two sides recently ended without a final agreement.
Memon also criticised references to the Fall of Dhaka for political point-scoring.
He described such references as an insult to history, the martyrs and the nation. He also rejected attempts to use the events of 1971 for political attacks.
According to reports, Afridi had earlier criticised the PPP and referred to the possibility of another East Pakistan in the context of current political tensions.
The exchange reflects growing political tensions between the PPP and PTI governments as disputes over security, governance and political mobilisation continue.
