ISLAMABAD, September 29, 2026: HBL Microfinance Bank, 1LINK and Euronet Pakistan have signed a tripartite agreement to introduce Pakistan’s first PayPak Credit Card, with HBL Microfinance Bank becoming the inaugural credit card partner of the domestic payment scheme.
The agreement marks a new development in Pakistan’s payments sector and aims to expand access to locally powered credit solutions for microfinance customers.
The agreement was signed by HBL Microfinance Bank President and CEO Amir Khan, 1LINK CEO Najeeb Agrawalla and Euronet CEO Kashif Gaya.
Under the partnership, HBL Microfinance Bank will issue the PayPak Credit Cards and manage the customer proposition. 1LINK will provide the PayPak payment scheme, while Euronet will provide the card-processing technology platform and implementation support.
HBL Microfinance Bank plans to offer the PayPak Credit Card in four variants — Green, Standard, Pink and Edge — giving customers a range of options based on their financial needs.
The bank also plans to introduce both conventional and Islamic PayPak credit card offerings as part of its broader strategy to expand access to credit solutions for microfinance customers across Pakistan.

Amir Khan said the initiative would provide microfinance customers with greater choice, flexibility and convenience in accessing credit and making payments.
He said the partnership combines HBL Microfinance Bank’s customer reach with PayPak’s domestic payment network and Euronet’s technology capabilities to extend credit card access to customers who have traditionally had limited access to conventional banking products.
Najeeb Agrawalla described the agreement as a significant development for Pakistan’s payments ecosystem, saying it reflected the strength of the country’s domestic payment infrastructure and the focus on secure and locally powered payment solutions.
Kashif Gaya said Euronet would support the initiative as the card processor and technology partner, bringing its payment-processing capabilities and expertise to the programme.
The partnership brings together HBL Microfinance Bank’s microfinance network, PayPak’s domestic payment infrastructure and Euronet’s processing technology to develop a new locally powered credit card proposition for Pakistan.
