The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its gains on Friday. Strong buying pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index above the 170,000-point level.
The index climbed more than 1,500 points during early trading. It reached 170,703 points as the market continued its upward momentum.
KSE-100 Gains More Than 1,000 Points
The PSX had also closed higher on Thursday.
The KSE-100 Index gained 1,021.40 points, or 0.61%, to close at 169,043.20 points. It had closed at 168,021.80 points in the previous session.
The latest gains extend the market’s recent positive trend. Investors continued buying shares across the market during Friday’s early session.
Trading Activity Strengthens
Trading activity also improved during the previous session.

Ready-market trading volume increased to 386.368 million shares, compared with 356.138 million shares a day earlier.
The total traded value also rose to Rs20.091 billion from Rs19.487 billion.
The increase in both volume and traded value reflected stronger market participation.
Market Capitalisation Rises
The stock market’s overall capitalisation also increased.
Market capitalisation reached Rs18.847 trillion, compared with Rs18.721 trillion in the previous session.
The rise came as the benchmark index continued to gain and investor activity remained strong.
The Friday rally keeps the KSE-100 firmly above the 170,000-point mark as investors monitor market conditions and corporate developments.
