KARACHI: Director of the Russian Centre for Science & Culture, also known as Russian House, Nikita Kosiakov visited Jamia Binoria Alamiya in Karachi.
Russian students at the institution welcomed Kosiakov and presented him with a bouquet.
During the visit, Kosiakov met Jamia Binoria Alamiya Rector Mufti Dr Nauman Naeem. They discussed matters of mutual interest, students’ educational activities and academic facilities available to international students.
International Students and Language Programmes
Mufti Dr Nauman Naeem told Kosiakov that around 5,000 students from 78 countries currently study at the institution.
He said Jamia Binoria Alamiya also offers language courses in 15 languages. These include Russian and Chinese.

The language programmes aim to help international students develop communication skills alongside their religious education.
Director of the Faculty of Hadith Sheikh Abdul Karim and Dr Latif-ur-Rehman also accompanied Kosiakov during his tour of the institution.
They introduced him to various departments, ongoing courses and teaching activities. They also explained the university’s overall educational system.
Focus on Russian Students
Kosiakov showed interest in the courses offered at Jamia Binoria Alamiya and the education of international students.
He appreciated the institution’s efforts to provide religious education alongside academic and language facilities.
The Russian House director also met Russian students studying at the institution. He discussed their educational activities and experiences in Karachi.
During the visit, Kosiakov invited Mufti Dr Nauman Naeem and the Russian students to visit the Russian House in Karachi.
Focus on Education and Cultural Cooperation
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed interest in strengthening cooperation and communication.
They also discussed greater people-to-people links in education and culture. The visit provided an opportunity to explore further engagement between the institution and Russian educational and cultural representatives.
