Sunny Deol has recalled receiving a warm welcome from people in Pakistan during his visit to the Kartarpur Corridor, saying he experienced “a lot of love” during the trip.
The Bollywood actor discussed his connection with Pakistan during an interview to promote his latest film, which was released in India and several other countries on Friday.
Asked whether he had ever visited Pakistan, Deol said he had not travelled elsewhere in the country but had visited Kartarpur when the corridor opened.
Deol said he joined a delegation that travelled to Kartarpur because the site fell within his parliamentary constituency at the time.

Recalling the visit, the actor said people in Pakistan welcomed him warmly. He also remembered Pakistani soldiers expressing affection for him and asking him not to appear in films that portrayed Pakistan negatively.
Deol said he told them that he was simply playing a character in those movies.
The actor also spoke about the emotional connection people have with their countries. He said people naturally love their homeland but stressed that innocent civilians should never become targets.
He added that authorities should instead take action against people responsible for wrongdoing.
Deol’s comments come amid continued public interest in cultural and personal connections between people on both sides of the India-Pakistan border.
