A Michigan shooting left five people dead in northern Michigan on Friday. Police later found the suspected gunman dead after a manhunt.
One victim remains in critical condition in hospital, Michigan State Police said.
Troopers responded to a home in Missaukee County at about 11:40am local time. Authorities had received a report of a shooting at the property.
When officers arrived, they found three people dead. They also found a fourth person with gunshot wounds.
Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Chad Hickman. He fled the scene before troopers arrived, prompting authorities to launch a manhunt.

During the search, investigators found another victim dead at a second residence. Police then located Hickman’s vehicle near a wooded area close to Whitlock Lake.
Troopers found Hickman and another person dead near the vehicle, Michigan State Police said.
Lieutenant Ashley Miller described the incident as heartbreaking for the community. She also said the case had created significant challenges for investigators.
Police have not released the victims’ names, ages or genders. Authorities said they were working to notify the victims’ next of kin.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the shootings and the deaths at the two locations.
