Samina Ahmad played a vital role in shaping Sania Saeed’s early acting career, the senior Pakistani actress has revealed. She said the veteran star gave her guidance, encouragement and unwavering support when she was starting out.

Speaking on a private television programme, Sania reflected on her long association with Samina Ahmad. She also recalled working with her in the drama serial Aahat.
A Home During Theatre Festivals
Sania said she often travelled by train to Lahore for theatre festivals. However, she frequently had neither accommodation nor enough money during those trips.
She recalled that her father would reassure her by saying Samina Ahmad would always be there to help. Initially, Sania was surprised that her father had assumed she could stay at the veteran actress’s home without asking first.
Later, her father spoke to Samina Ahmad, who welcomed her warmly. Sania stayed at her residence throughout the festival and took part in every theatre activity.
A Mentor Beyond Acting
The actress said she received immense affection, kindness and protection from her senior colleagues. Moreover, she described Samina Ahmad as more than a mentor, saying her seniors were institutions who shaped younger artists through their guidance and generosity.
Sania added that she hopes to carry forward the same tradition by supporting the next generation of actors.
A Strong and Inspiring Woman
Sania praised Samina Ahmad for her resilience and determination. She said the veteran actress raised her children independently and helped them build successful lives.
Afterwards, Samina chose to begin a new chapter in her own life, a decision Sania described as a reflection of her confidence and strength.
Sania also revealed that she had known Samina Ahmad before Aahat through Rafi Peer, where the veteran actress worked as an art director. She said she learned valuable lessons about theatre and art from her long before entering television.
