However, Argentina responded with sustained attacking pressure. The defending champions created several chances before midfielder Enzo Fernández fired a long-range strike into the net in the 85th minute to level the match at 1-1.
Then, Argentina completed the comeback in stoppage time. Forward Lautaro Martínez headed home a cross from Lionel Messi, sending Argentine supporters into celebration. Messi provided the assists for both goals.
Meanwhile, Argentina continued its remarkable run through the knockout stage. The team previously survived extra-time battles against Cape Verde and Switzerland. It also recovered from a two-goal deficit to eliminate Egypt.
