ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs1.97 per litre, with the revised rates taking immediate effect for the week ending July 10.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, the ex-depot price of petrol (motor spirit) has been lowered from Rs299.50 to Rs297.53 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced from Rs311.47 to Rs309.50 per litre.
The government reviews petroleum product prices every week based on movements in international oil prices and fluctuations in the exchange rate.
The latest adjustment provides modest relief to consumers while reflecting changes in global energy markets and domestic pricing mechanisms.
