Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating export growth and advancing the digital transformation of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem.
The agreement was signed at TDAP Headquarters in Karachi and marks a significant step toward improving regulatory efficiency, streamlining trade facilitation, and providing modern integrated services to Pakistan’s export and import sectors.
Under the partnership, PSW — the country’s lead platform for digital trade transformation — will work closely with TDAP to harmonize export facilitation processes and integrate key digital platforms, including TDAP’s Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory, into the broader PSW system.
The integration is expected to provide traders with seamless, real-time access to trade-related information and services while reducing dependence on manual procedures and paperwork.
As Pakistan’s premier trade promotion organization, TDAP will support the initiative by leveraging its extensive network of regional offices, trade bodies, and international connections to identify stakeholders who can benefit from PSW’s digital reforms. TDAP will also facilitate outreach and awareness by allocating dedicated space for PSW at its major trade exhibitions and business events to encourage adoption of paperless trade solutions.
A major focus of the collaboration will be data-driven policymaking and trade analysis. Both organizations will engage in secure trade data sharing to support evidence-based decisions aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s export competitiveness and supporting local businesses.
The MoU also includes plans for the development of export-readiness toolkits and compliance checklists to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) better navigate international market requirements and improve their global market access.
Another key aspect of the partnership is the promotion of gender-responsive trade facilitation. PSW and TDAP will work together to strengthen digital inclusion and export readiness for women-led businesses. The initiative will encourage entrepreneurs associated with the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program to participate in international trade exhibitions and business delegations organized under TDAP’s annual plan.
Speaking on the occasion, PSW Chief Executive Officer Aftab Haider described the collaboration as an important milestone in building a unified and inclusive trade ecosystem for Pakistan.
He said the partnership would combine PSW’s digital capabilities and data systems with TDAP’s trade promotion expertise to create targeted interventions for exporters, particularly women entrepreneurs, while also improving services and knowledge-sharing across the trade sector.
The agreement also includes joint capacity-building and training sessions, through which PSW will provide orientation to TDAP officials on new digital modules, trade facilitation systems, and regulatory developments. Officials believe the collaboration will help strengthen Pakistan’s strategic trade infrastructure and improve the country’s position in global commerce.
