KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammed Nehal Hashmi attended a high-profile diplomatic dinner hosted by prominent businessman Ather Iqbal and Irfan Fadoo in DHA, where diplomats, political leaders, and members of the business community gathered for discussions on regional and international affairs.

The event brought together senior members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, lawmakers, and business figures in what participants described as an important platform for dialogue and engagement amid evolving geopolitical developments.

Among the distinguished guests was the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Sami Abdullah Salim Al Khanjari, Consul General of Oman, along with diplomats representing the United Kingdom, China, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, and Bangladesh. Director General of KOTRA Jaesun Uh was also present at the gathering.

Senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, MNAs, MPAs, and senior government and police officials also attended the event.

Speaking informally to the media, Governor Nehal Hashmi appreciated the hosts for organizing what he termed an important gathering at a time of regional uncertainty and geopolitical tensions in the Gulf.

“It is a testament to Karachi’s resilience and hospitality that such a diverse group of dignitaries and stakeholders can come together in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect,” the governor said.

Diplomats attending the dinner praised Karachi’s hospitality and highlighted the value of such informal engagements in promoting understanding and dialogue on regional developments and international cooperation.

The event was widely viewed as a significant networking and bridge-building initiative that reinforced Karachi’s role as a key center for diplomatic and business interaction.
