
KARACHI: A delegation of RK Sports Management, led by its Founder and President Rais Khan, called on the Iraqi Consul General, Dr. Maher Mjhid Jejan, in Karachi.
The delegation included Vice Chairperson Irum Fawad and Vice President Tahir Malik. During the meeting, the delegation extended heartfelt congratulations to Iraq on qualifying for the FIFA World Cup after a gap of 40 years. A bouquet was presented to the Consul General, and a cake-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Maher Mjhid Jejan thanked RK Sports Management for the gesture and expressed confidence in Iraq’s national football team, stating that it is a strong side capable of delivering an impressive performance at the World Cup. He noted that the team’s success is the result of consistent hard work and dedication.
He also praised Pakistan, describing it as a beautiful country with strong potential in various sports. “I am personally a great fan of cricket,” he added, expressing his desire to see Pakistan qualify for a future FIFA World Cup.
Dr. Maher Mjhid Jejan further emphasized the need to promote sports and cultural ties between Pakistan and Iraq, suggesting increased exchange of players in different sports disciplines to strengthen bilateral relations.
Rais Khan, in his remarks, termed Iraq’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup as a welcome development and expressed hope that the team would emerge as a strong contender in the tournament. He highlighted the need to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq in sports, culture, and trade sectors.
He added that RK Sports Management has been actively working for the promotion of sports in Pakistan and has successfully organized various sporting events and tournaments.
Vice Chairperson Irum Fawad also spoke on the occasion, stating that significant efforts are being made to promote women’s participation in sports. She noted that Pakistani female athletes are delivering outstanding performances in international competitions, bringing recognition to the country.
