The ministry said the joint action aimed to curb excessive volatility and restore orderly trading in the foreign exchange market.

Japan Vows Further Action

Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama issued a statement on Monday. She said the government would not hesitate to intervene again if market conditions required additional action.

Furthermore, Katayama confirmed that Japan remains in close contact with the U.S. Treasury to monitor developments in the currency market.

Authorities Target Market Stability

Japanese officials have repeatedly warned that sharp currency swings can disrupt businesses and weaken investor confidence.

Therefore, the government acted alongside the United States to stabilise the yen and reduce market volatility.

Meanwhile, authorities said they will continue monitoring exchange rate movements closely. They also pledged to respond quickly if disorderly market conditions return.

The coordinated intervention highlights stronger cooperation between Tokyo and Washington. As a result, both governments hope to improve confidence in the foreign exchange market and support financial stability.
