Under the latest update, iPad users no longer need to link their WhatsApp account to a mobile phone. Instead, they can complete the registration process on the iPad and begin using the app immediately.
WhatsApp has also expanded support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Drivers can now listen to messages and reply hands-free while driving. In addition, they can make calls, check call history and access favourite contacts directly from their vehicle’s display.
The platform has improved its PDF experience by allowing users to open PDF files without downloading them first.
Users can also perform basic edits, including highlighting text and adding notes, without leaving the app.
Meanwhile, Apple Music and Spotify users can now share the songs they are currently listening to directly to their WhatsApp Status.
WhatsApp said it is rolling out the new features gradually to users worldwide. Availability may vary depending on the user’s device and region.
