Trump Netanyahu: Leaders Agree to Meet Soon in Washington After Phone Call

Trump Netanyahu relations were reaffirmed on Friday as US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed during a telephone conversation to hold an early meeting in Washington.

According to a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu congratulated President Trump on the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and reiterated Israel’s commitment to maintaining its close and longstanding partnership with Washington.

The statement said both leaders discussed issues of mutual interest and agreed to meet in Washington in the near future, although no date for the visit was announced.

The phone call comes as the United States and Israel remain in close coordination on major regional developments, including Iran, the war in Gaza and wider Middle East security concerns.

Diplomatic sources said the planned meeting is expected to focus on Iran’s regional activities, efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and strengthening defence cooperation between the two allies.

Recent media reports had suggested tensions between Trump and Netanyahu. However, both leaders have dismissed those claims and insisted that communication and cooperation between their governments continue without interruption.

The upcoming meeting is expected to underline the strategic partnership between the United States and Israel at a time of heightened regional uncertainty.
