Tahira Jahangir Praises Sindh Govt’s Effective Rain Response

Karachi: Ms. Tahira Jahangir, Principal and Owner of Global Educational Higher Secondary School and Member of the Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association, has appreciated the timely, organized, and effective performance of the Sindh Government and relevant institutions during the recent rains, and paid them rich tribute.

In her statement, she said that the sense of responsibility, professional competence, and prompt response demonstrated during challenging weather conditions is commendable. Preemptive measures for drainage across the city, timely deployment of jetting and suction machines, and special attention to low-lying areas reflect an excellent strategy. She noted that the presence of machinery and continuous monitoring of drainage operations at key locations including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Baloch Colony, Nursery, FTC, CM House, Governor House, Saddar, Tower, and Bilawal Chowrangi are proving highly effective in providing relief to citizens.

Ms. Tahira Jahangir also appreciated the establishment of a complaint cell at the Chief Minister House and the formation of a Command and Control Center at the Commissioner’s Office, calling them timely and wise initiatives. She stated that these measures not only ensure prompt redressal of public complaints but also enhance transparency, efficiency, and coordination in administrative affairs.

She further said that continuous monitoring and immediate response through a modern and integrated system are crucial in dealing with any emergency situation, and the efforts of the Sindh Government serve as a model for ensuring public safety and convenience. She also praised the tireless efforts of the Water Corporation, district administration, and other relevant institutions, stating that their work is not only easing difficulties for citizens but also strengthening public trust in government institutions.

On this occasion, Ms. Tahira Jahangir emphasized the need for citizens—especially children, the elderly, women, and youth—to adopt precautionary measures. She advised avoiding unnecessary travel during rainfall, keeping children away from accumulated water and open manholes, and urged elderly individuals and women to be cautious on slippery surfaces.

Addressing the youth, she urged them to act responsibly, avoid unnecessary driving or riding, and prioritize their own safety as well as that of others. She stressed that as responsible citizens, everyone must demonstrate discipline, caution, and mutual cooperation to prevent any untoward incidents. She added that educational institutions have a responsibility to raise awareness among students and parents regarding safety precautions during such situations, so that collectively a safe and well-organized society can be built.

In conclusion, she expressed hope that the Sindh Government and all relevant institutions will continue to serve the public with the same spirit, dedication, and professional excellence in the future.
