Stellantis issues global recall for Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator due to fire risk.
A major Jeep recall has been issued after Stellantis announced it is recalling more than 1.3 million Jeep SUVs and trucks worldwide due to a potential fire hazard.
The company also advised owners to park their vehicles away from structures or other vehicles until repairs are completed. Moreover, the recall covers multiple model years and regions.
The recall affects certain 2021–2025 model year Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator are both included in the safety action.
In addition, nearly 1.08 million vehicles are in the United States alone. Other affected markets include Canada, Mexico, and additional international regions.
Stellantis said the issue is linked to an electrical connection fault in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring.
In rare cases, this defect could cause overheating of combustible materials. As a result, there is an increased risk of vehicle fire.
Owners are strongly advised to follow parking precautions until repairs are completed. Moreover, Stellantis has urged drivers to avoid parking near buildings or other vehicles.
The company has reported one potential injury linked to the issue. However, no crashes or fatalities have been confirmed so far.
The repair will involve inspection and possible replacement of the wiring harness or power steering pump system. Furthermore, Stellantis is working to accelerate availability of the fix.
The company expects to provide a permanent remedy no later than July. Therefore, affected owners will be notified in phases.
Stellantis is a multinational automotive group operating across North America, Europe, South America, and other regions.
Its portfolio includes several major automotive brands. Consequently, recalls of this scale can have global operational impact.
The Jeep recall highlights ongoing challenges in modern vehicle electrical systems. Moreover, safety regulators continue to monitor automotive manufacturing standards closely.
As a result, affected owners are encouraged to respond promptly to recall notices to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
