SJAS Hosts Squash Reporting Workshop with Jahangir Khan in Karachi

Karachi: The Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), in collaboration with JK Sports Club, organized a squash reporting workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of young sports reporters. The session drew participation from SJAS members, senior journalists, and Secretary General of the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation, Asghar Azeem.

World-renowned squash legend Jahangir Khan graced the event and shared heartfelt sentiments about his long-standing association with the sports media. “Sports journalists and I have been together since the beginning,” he said. “Their role in my success is unforgettable.”

SJAS President Mahmood Riaz highlighted the purpose of the workshop, stating that it was designed to train emerging journalists in the technical rules and reporting standards of squash. Renowned squash coach Naveed Alam delivered an informative lecture, explaining scoring systems and other key aspects of the game.

SJAS Secretary Shahid Usman Saati stressed the importance of rule-based reporting for accurate and impactful journalism. “The basis of quality reporting is awareness of the rules of the game,” he noted.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants. Jahangir Khan was honored with a bouquet, a traditional Ajrak, and a Sindhi cap in recognition of his legendary contributions to the sport.
