Karachi: The Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) hosted a vibrant exhibition today at Movenpick Hotel, Karachi, to celebrate the rich heritage of Sindhi handicrafts and culture. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Saeed Ghani, Minister for Planning and Development, Government of Sindh.
The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including diplomats, business leaders, and cultural enthusiasts from countries such as Japan, Turkey, the United States, Iran, Bangladesh, and Russia. This international participation highlighted the global interest in Sindh’s cultural heritage and its unique artisan traditions.
Promotion of Sindhi Culture and Handicrafts
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Saeed Ghani emphasized the importance of preserving Sindhi culture through such initiatives. He stressed the government’s commitment to supporting artisans and developing Sindhi handicrafts as a thriving cottage industry. “Promoting these crafts not only contributes to economic growth but also plays a vital role in cultural preservation,” he said.
