Karachi: Sindh Minister for Energy, Development & Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah paid a surprise visit to the Head Office of K-Electric (KE) following increasing public complaints of prolonged load-shedding. The minister expressed serious concern over the situation and directed KE officials to take immediate and practical measures to resolve citizens’ grievances and provide relief to the public.
The minister noted that during rains, frequent tripping of feeders causes severe hardship for citizens. He instructed KE management to keep staff and machinery on emergency alert and to prepare a comprehensive plan for the timely repair and restoration of feeders. He further emphasized the need to fully activate KE’s complaint centers to ensure quick resolution of consumer issues.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stressed that uninterrupted electricity supply is a fundamental right of the people. He added that prolonged outages not only disrupt daily life but also hamper water supply and drainage operations at pumping stations across the city.
In response, KE officials assured the provincial minister that the utility would improve services and utilize all available resources for the timely redressal of complaints. The minister also announced that he would conduct another surprise visit to KE’s Head Office to personally review progress on the directives issued.
