DHAKA: Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved another major milestone in international cricket by completing 400 wickets during the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
Afridi reached the landmark on the fourth day of the Test when he dismissed Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque, marking a significant achievement in his growing international career.
With this feat, Shaheen Afridi has become the fifth Pakistani fast bowler to take 400 or more international wickets, joining an elite group that includes legendary names such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, and Umar Gul.
Overall, he becomes the ninth Pakistani bowler across all formats to reach the 400-wicket milestone, with three prominent spinners — Shahid Afridi, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Saeed Ajmal — also part of the exclusive list.
The 25-year-old pacer achieved the milestone in his 211th international match, further cementing his position among Pakistan’s most successful wicket-takers across all formats, where he now ranks ninth overall.
Cricket experts have praised Afridi’s consistency, pace, and match-winning ability, calling him one of the leading fast bowlers of the modern era for Pakistan.
