SECP Issues Final Notices to Four in Unity Foods Trading Probe

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued final notices to four individuals in its investigation into unusual trading activity in Unity Foods shares.

The notices require Muhammad Farrukh, Safdar Sajjad, Fehmida Amin and Hina Safdar to appear before the SECP investigation team at its Karachi office on September 3, 2026.

The four individuals had previously been summoned for August 31. However, according to the notices, none appeared before the investigation team or requested a new hearing date.

SECP Investigation Into Unity Foods Shares

The SECP formally launched the investigation on June 2, 2026, under Section 139 of the Securities Act, 2015.

The inquiry focuses on trading activity in Unity Foods Limited shares and related transactions involving the four individuals.

The commission has asked Muhammad Farrukh to explain the pledging of Unity Foods shares with banks. He must also submit relevant supporting records.

The SECP has separately summoned Safdar Sajjad, Fehmida Amin and Hina Safdar to provide statements about their respective trading activity in the company’s shares.

Documents and Trading Records Required

The investigation follows the SECP’s detection of potential irregularities linked to unusual trading activity in Unity Foods shares.

The regulator is examining the transactions to determine whether the individuals breached securities laws or other applicable regulations.

The four individuals must appear in person and bring relevant documents, trading records and other supporting material requested by the investigation team.

The final notices represent the latest step in the SECP’s ongoing examination of trading activity involving Unity Foods Limited.
