The book was unveiled during the Rotary International District 3271 Installation Ceremony 2026–27, where Shahzad Sabir officially assumed office as District Governor for the 2026–27 Rotary year.
Jennifer A. Scott, Rotary International Director for 2025–27, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Her presence highlighted the global significance of the publication and the centenary celebration.
Past President Syed Kashif Rafi anthologized the volume under the leadership of District Governor Shakeel Kaim Khani (2025–26). The project concluded after more than a year of historical research, archival work, and documentation.
The anthology traces Rotary’s journey from 1927, when the first Rotary club in present-day Pakistan was chartered in Lahore. It also looks ahead to 2027, when Rotary will celebrate its official centenary in Pakistan.
Speaking at the launch, Rafi described the publication as more than a history book. He said it honors generations of Rotarians who embraced the principle of Service Above Self and inspires future leaders to continue that tradition.
Past Rotary International Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai praised the project. He said the anthology preserves a century of service and will remain a lasting contribution to Rotary in Pakistan.
Project Patron Muhammad Iqbal Qureshi also welcomed the publication. He described it as a gift to future Rotarians and said it would guide the organization’s second century of humanitarian service.
Furthermore, the editorial and research team included Syed Tahzeeb Kazmi, Waqar Ahmed Shaikh, Kishwar Allawala, and Atiqua Vally. The team also paid tribute to the late Colonel Sajid Baseer for his valuable contributions. The Rotary Humanitarian Trust published the anthology.
Beyond documenting history, the book serves as a living archive. It aims to preserve Rotary’s heritage while encouraging future generations to expand the organization’s impact through community service.
