Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Headquarters, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security environment—particularly Pakistan’s preparedness in response to India’s increasingly aggressive and provocative stance along the Eastern border.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and the Chiefs of the Armed Forces.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz commended the ISI for its professionalism, strategic foresight, and vital role in safeguarding Pakistan’s national interests. He praised the agency’s contributions in enabling informed national security decisions under complex and evolving conditions.

During the high-level briefing, the country’s top civil-military leadership was updated on regional security developments, including the changing threat landscape—ranging from conventional military challenges to hybrid warfare and proxy terrorism threats.

The Prime Minister and other dignitaries stressed the importance of national vigilance, seamless coordination among security and intelligence agencies, and enhanced operational readiness to decisively counter any violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“The entire nation stands firmly behind our brave armed forces,” PM Shehbaz remarked, adding, “Pakistan Army is one of the most professional and disciplined forces in the world.”

The leadership reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend the homeland against all forms of threats. With full public support and cooperation of state institutions, the armed forces remain fully prepared to protect Pakistan’s security, honour, and territorial integrity under all circumstances.
