PM Shehbaz Concludes China Visit, Returns to Pakistan After Key Talks

Multiple agreements signed across key sectors as Pakistan and China mark 75 years of diplomatic ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday concluded his four-day official visit to China and departed for Pakistan after holding extensive talks with Chinese leadership aimed at further strengthening the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between the two countries.

He was seen off at the airport by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister and Secretary General of the China-CEEC Cooperation Secretariat Hua Chunying.


High-Level Meetings with Chinese Leadership

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held significant meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation across economic, strategic, and development sectors.


Marking 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations

The Prime Minister also participated in high-level commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The celebrations underscored the long-standing friendship and strategic alignment between the two countries.


Wide-Ranging Agreements Signed

During the visit, both sides signed multiple accords of cooperation covering several key areas, including:

  • Economy and trade
  • Environment and climate change
  • Agriculture and food security
  • Science and technology
  • Education
  • Media cooperation
  • Counterterrorism

The agreements aim to further expand bilateral cooperation and enhance development-focused partnerships.


Strengthening Strategic Cooperation

Officials from both countries reiterated their commitment to expanding the China–Pakistan relationship across emerging sectors, reinforcing economic connectivity and strategic coordination under the broader bilateral framework.

The visit is being seen as part of continued efforts to deepen cooperation at a time of evolving regional and global challenges.
