Rahim Yar Khan: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss mutual interests.

Focus on Economic, Political, and Cultural Collaboration

During their meeting, the leaders expressed a shared commitment to enhancing economic, political, and cultural ties. Key topics included economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change, and promoting shared global interests.

Prime Minister Sharif praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and its pivotal role in fostering Pakistan’s development and investment. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to deepen cooperation in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development sectors.

UAE’s Interest in Pakistan’s Growth Potential

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s keen interest in Pakistan’s mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors. He expressed admiration for Pakistan’s stabilized economy and the progress achieved under PM Sharif’s leadership. The UAE president underscored that this economic revival opens new avenues for bilateral investment and collaboration.

Prime Minister Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi.

PM Sharif’s Remarks on Strengthening UAE-Pakistan Ties

In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Sharif shared, “Delighted to meet with my dear brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, today in Rahimyar Khan. Reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen Pak-UAE cooperation and elevate our ties to a mutually beneficial strategic partnership. Matters of mutual interest, including investments in Pakistan, were discussed with a resolve to move forward together.”

A Personal Touch to Diplomacy

Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed personally drove PM Sharif in his vehicle, reflecting the warm and informal rapport between the two leaders. During the drive, they exchanged views in a pleasant and relaxed manner.

Prime Minister Sharif warmly welcomed the UAE President, referring to Pakistan as his “second home.”
