The government praised the efforts of the “Blue Helmets” for promoting global peace, security and humanitarian relief in conflict zones.
Pakistan highlighted its more than six-decade-long partnership with United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Since 1960, over 237,000 Pakistani peacekeepers have participated in UN operations around the world.
The statement also honored 183 Pakistani peacekeepers who lost their lives during peacekeeping missions.
Pakistani peacekeepers are currently serving in dangerous regions, including the Democratic Republic of Congo under MONUSCO, South Sudan under UNMISS and the Central African Republic under MINUSCA.
Their duties include military operations, civilian protection and responding to climate-related humanitarian challenges.
Pakistan said modern conflicts have become more unstable, complex and asymmetric.
The statement noted that peacekeepers now face hybrid threats, including cyber risks, misinformation campaigns, political instability and climate emergencies.
This year’s theme, “Invest in Peace,” calls for stronger efforts to prevent conflicts before they escalate.
The Government of Pakistan and the country’s armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to UN peacekeeping missions.
Pakistan said it would continue investing in training, human resources and modern peacekeeping capabilities.
The statement added that lasting peace requires continuous global cooperation and collective investment.
Pakistan also pledged to continue supporting international peace, stability and humanitarian efforts under the UN flag.
