Pakistan, Indonesia Seal USD 22.9m Trade Deals at TEI 2025

Special Correspondent

Jakarta: The 2025 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in BSD City concluded on a high note for Pakistan, as a Sindh Province business delegation, coordinated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, finalized trade and cooperation agreements worth USD 22.9 million.

The agreements were cemented through a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Indonesian companies spanning key industries such as natural commodities, automotive parts, textiles and fashion, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and food and beverages.

Among the landmark partnerships, Mehran Commercial Enterprises (Pakistan) joined hands with ASTRA Otoparts (Indonesia) and PT APM Armada Autoparts (AAA) for a year-long supply collaboration valued at approximately USD 3 million. Other agreements included cooperation between PT Indorana Jaya and Orb Exim Corporation Pvt. Ltd in natural resin trade, and between PT Anugrah Cita Era Food (ACEFOOD) and AS Enterprises for snack product distribution.

In addition, several strategic MoUs were signed between Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia, and Indonesian business associations such as the Indonesian Medical Device Producers Association (ASPAKI), Indonesian Laboratory Equipment Association (GASKELAB), Indonesian Exporters Association (GPEI-Jakarta), Indonesian Filament Yarn & Fiber Producers Association (APSyFI), and the Indonesia Trading House of KADIN.

The signing ceremony took place during a Networking Dinner hosted by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi at Hotel Santika BSD on October 18, marking another milestone in strengthening people-to-people and business-to-business ties between the two nations.

“The Pakistani business community showed great enthusiasm during the Expo. We facilitated over 140 business matching sessions between Pakistani and Indonesian entrepreneurs,” said Mudzakir M.A., Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi. “Tonight’s event was a fitting conclusion to the productive visit of the Pakistani delegation, and we are pleased to see many tangible collaborations taking shape,” he added.

Leaders of Pakistani business associations expressed appreciation for the Consulate’s facilitation. Shamon Zaki, President of the Pakistan Indonesia Business Forum (PIBF), praised the growing trust and collaboration between entrepreneurs from both sides. Similarly, Uzair Nizam, President of the Pakistan–Indonesia Business and Cultural Network (PIBCN), emphasized the pivotal role played by the Consulate General in fostering mutual economic growth.

The Sindh delegation, comprising 25 representatives from various industries — including automotive, food, and general commodities — along with leaders from PIBF, PIBCN, and the Pakistan Indonesia Business Council (PIBC), participated in TEI 2025 from October 15–19. Their visit included Expo tours, business matching sessions at ICE BSD, and a Networking Forum at Hotel Atria Serpong organized with the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad.

Organized annually by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, the Trade Expo Indonesia remains the country’s leading trade showcase, promoting high-quality Indonesian products and building global partnerships.

The growing trade momentum between Pakistan and Indonesia highlights both nations’ shared commitment to deepening economic cooperation and creating sustainable trade opportunities in the years ahead.
