Pakistan Day: Global Landmarks Light Up in Green and White

Islamabad: Iconic landmarks across the world were illuminated in green and white to mark Pakistan Day, symbolizing unity, respect, and enduring friendship between Pakistan and partner nations.
In the United Arab Emirates, Burj Khalifa in Dubai dazzled with a spectacular light show displaying Pakistan’s national flag. The display attracted large crowds, particularly members of the Pakistani community.
In Türkiye, Atakule in Ankara was illuminated in green and white on the eve of the national day.
Similarly, the iconic Bosphorus bridges in Istanbul lit up in Pakistan’s flag colours, symbolising strong bilateral ties. The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara expressed gratitude with messages of “Teşekkürler Türkiye,” acknowledging the gesture of solidarity.
In Qatar, several prominent structures including the Sheraton Hotel Doha, The Torch Doha, and Al Jaber Twin Towers in Lusail were illuminated in green and white, highlighting the strong Pakistan-Qatar relationship.
In South Korea, Banpo Bridge in Seoul displayed Pakistan’s national colours, reflecting growing bilateral ties. Messages such as “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak-Korea dosti Zindabad” were prominently featured.
Pakistani communities in these countries gathered at the illuminated landmarks, capturing the celebrations and sharing them widely on social media.
In addition, diplomatic missions hosted formal events including flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programmes, and speeches highlighting the significance of the Lahore Resolution.
These global celebrations reinforced national pride and unity among overseas Pakistanis, while strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties with host nations.
