KP Taxes Government Approves Tax Exemptions for Merged Districts and Malakand

KP Taxes will be exempted for certain businesses and industries in the merged tribal districts and Malakand Division after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet formally approved the measures.

Provincial Information Minister Shafiullah Jan said the cabinet approved exemptions from sales tax on services for service providers in former FATA, PATA and Malakand Division.

Industries operating in these areas will also receive exemptions from withholding sales tax, he said.

Ehsaas Naujawan Programme Expanded

The cabinet increased the size of the Ehsaas Naujawan Programme from Rs3 billion to Rs5 billion.

The minister said the increase would provide greater financial support under the provincial youth-focused initiative.

Free Textbooks Approved

The provincial cabinet also approved funds for schools and colleges in various districts.

It approved a semester-based curriculum book system for students up to Grade 5.

In addition, the government approved 100% free textbooks for students from Grade 9 to Grade 12.

Ashra-e-Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Events

The cabinet approved official observance of Ashra-e-Rehmatul-lil-Alameen across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the first of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

It also approved the schedule of events planned under the programme.

Meanwhile, the cabinet approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public-Private Partnership Authority Bill 2026, paving the way for legislation on public-private partnerships in the province.
